Zehut party leader to run in elections on joint list with ex-Otzma Yehudit chair

Moshe Feiglin, founder and chair of the Zehut party, and former Otzma Yehudit chair Michael Ben-Ari have agreed to run together on a joint list in the upcoming elections, forming the first alliance on the Right ahead of the vote. The new partnership is aimed at creating what they describe as a strong political home for the faith-based nationalist public in Israel.

The joint party said it will not compromise on values of freedom, sovereignty, and Jewish identity. Its platform calls for a decisive military victory over Israel’s enemies, an end to what it describes as containment policies, the application of full Israeli sovereignty in the West Bank and Gaza, and renewed Jewish settlement throughout the country. It also supports reducing government ministries, limiting bureaucracy, encouraging immigration of Jews from abroad, and strengthening Israel’s Jewish character.

Feiglin, a former member of Likud who founded Zehut in 2015, previously promoted a mix of nationalist security policies and libertarian economic reforms. Ben-Ari, who co-founded Otzma Yehudit and was disqualified from running in 2019 on grounds of racism, said the October 7 attacks underscored the need for ideological unity. The alliance has begun assembling a joint slate that it says will include figures from religious, intellectual, and security backgrounds.
