Turkiye's President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has accused Israel of undermining all initiatives aimed at ending the war in the Middle East, stating that Ankara will continue pursuing every possible opportunity to secure a ceasefire. Speaking after a cabinet meeting in the capital, Erdogan said his government remains committed to silencing the weapons and opening space for negotiations despite ongoing obstacles.
Erdogan described the conflict as unlawful, senseless, illegitimate, and extremely costly for humanity, expressing hope that it will end as soon as possible. He warned that as the fighting continues, the risk of the conflict spreading to other countries remains high, adding that Turkiye still carries serious concerns for the broader region.
Turkiye has intensified diplomatic efforts, with Erdogan and senior ministers increasing contacts to push for a ceasefire. Ankara has sought mediation through talks involving Pakistan and Egypt, while the foreign minister has held discussions with counterparts from the United States and Iran regarding the course of the war and related developments.
