'Military raring to go': Trump outlines US response if Iran fails to make deal before truce ends

United States President Donald Trump warned that the United States would bomb Iran if a deal is not reached before a fragile two week ceasefire expires. He said the military is 'raring to go' and emphasized that Washington would act if an agreement does not protect American and global interests. Trump added that he expects military action if diplomacy fails.

The comments come as the ceasefire, set to end on April 22, remains uncertain. A second round of talks in Islamabad has yet to be confirmed after earlier negotiations failed to produce a breakthrough. Trump said he does not support extending the truce and argued that Tehran has no choice but to negotiate.

The ceasefire followed joint strikes by the United States and Israel on February 28, which prompted retaliation from Iran and escalated tensions in the Middle East. Both sides have since expressed concerns about compliance with the truce as diplomatic efforts continue under mounting pressure.
