Talks between the United States and Iran over Tehran’s nuclear program have collapsed after both sides failed to bridge significant differences. Despite the breakdown, officials signaled that negotiations could resume in the future.
According to Iranian reports, disputes extended beyond nuclear activities to include control of the strategic Strait of Hormuz and access to frozen financial assets. Iranian sources said disagreements centered on the fate of enriched uranium stockpiles and a demand to release 27 billion dollars in Iranian funds.
The United States reportedly pressed for the immediate reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, while Iran insisted such a move would only occur as part of a comprehensive final agreement. Although the talks ended without a deal, both governments have left open the possibility of further discussions.
