The Israel Defense Forces said they captured a Palestinian man suspected of murdering his 12-year-old son and burning his body before fleeing into Israel. According to Palestinian sources, the man allegedly stabbed his son near an agricultural area in Beit Ur, close to Ramallah, and then set the body on fire.
After the killing, the suspect reportedly evaded Palestinian Authority security forces and crossed into Israel near the Hashmonaim checkpoint. The Palestinian Authority contacted the Israel Defense Forces for assistance, and the suspect was located and detained near the checkpoint before being handed back to Palestinian authorities following questioning.
In a separate development, Israeli security forces announced the indictment of seven members of the Hariri crime organization on charges including extortion, threats, and planting explosive devices. The arrests followed coordinated raids in Arab villages and the West Bank, during which additional suspects were detained and cash and vehicles were seized.
